ABOUT THE FAMILY

This busy blended household needs a confident all rounder who can manage all areas of care relating to the child(ren). G9 is bubbly, confident and playful, and B11 (at boarding school) is bright and curious. Mum is an extraordinarily busy professional and travels internationally for work on a weekly basis - therefore the role involves regular proxy-parenting. There are also two older step-children who only visit very occasionally during the school holidays and as they are a bit older require very little care. The family are looking for a nanny who is lots of fun, with a firm but fair approach that can build a warm connection with the child(ren) and be a positive role model. There are currently no pets in the home but there are family dogs which regularly spend time there so dog lovers are preferred.

During term-time:
You will be responsible for the complete care of G9. You will be confident managing grocery shopping, preparing meals, supporting her personal routines, school pick-ups/drop-offs, liaising with teachers and tutors, managing a busy academic and activity schedule and helping with homework, reading and exam prep. She attends a local school and is enrolled in many extra curricular activities, allowing plenty of time during the day to run errands and take time for yourself.

During school holidays:
During school holidays both children will be in your full time care. However, they often travel and attend many sports camps during the holidays so, whilst the schedule requires a level of flexibility, there will still be hands-off hours during the day. As a blended family, two teenage step-children will occasionally visit the home during the school holidays. The children all get along well and as teenagers, they are very independent and require minimal supervision.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Childcare: All aspects of managing the daily routines and care for G9 and B11 during the school holidays. You will carry out all nursery duties including laundry, ensuring the children keep their rooms tidy etc.

• Proxy-parenting: You will be required to proxy-parent on a weekly basis. The role is primarily Mon-Fri with the weekends off although flexibility is required incase mums travel runs over and alternative arrangements cannot be made.

• Meal planning and prep: You will be confident keeping the fridge stocked so you can prepare delicious meals for yourself and your charges.

• Managing a busy schedule: You will be responsible for the school run and making sure G9 gets to all of her extra curricular activities on time and with the correct kit (and snacks!). The home is in close proximity to school and all afterschool activities and tutors. There are good public transport links close by.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for a cheerful, fun nanny who is:

• A driver: A confident driver with a clean licence is an absolute must.

• Proactive and organised: You will be on top of G9’s busy schedule at all times, ensuring she has completed and handed in the correct homework, has the right kit for her sports activity etc etc.

• Experienced and confident: Ideally you have 2+ years of experience caring for children of these ages (9-14)

• A strong communicator: You will need to liaise with coaches, tutors and teachers on mum’s behalf whilst keeping her updated on any highlights.

• Flexible: This role requires someone with a ‘can-do’ attitude who can adapt to unexpected (and sometimes short notice) changes.

• Potential to travel: The family usually employ a holiday nanny when they travel so their live-in nanny can rest however, if travelling is of interest to you, this can be discussed with the family on a trip-by-trip basis.
