ABOUT THE FAMILY
A lovely family of 4 (plus friendly doggo) based in Shepherd's Bush are looking for an experienced, proactive nanny to become a valued part of their household and care for their two wonderful boys, aged 2 years and 8 months.
Their eldest son is a thoughtful, intelligent and sensitive little boy who loves baking, art, nature, bugs and making people laugh. He enjoys taking his time to explore the world and thrives with patient, gentle guidance. His younger brother is a happy, content baby who enjoys watching the world around him and adores spending time with his big brother.
The boys love being outdoors and are in a great routine with classes and social playdates. However, the parents also advocate for the importance of daily downtime at home, particularly at nap time therefore this role would better suit a nanny who likes to balance their day between outside and home. Swimming lessons are part of the weekly routine and the nanny must be happy to attend these classes with the boys.
The family embraces a positive, playful parenting style built around empathy, humour and consistency. They are looking for someone down to earth who is happy to pitch-in and values collaboration. Their perfect nanny is reliable, takes pride in their profession and is a team player; someone who can share their own knowledge and experience with the family, but also take constructive feedback on board. Mum will return to work full time in September and both parents have the flexibility to work from home, so the nanny should be comfortable working alongside parents while confidently taking sole charge.
The family are keen to find a nanny who wants to stay with them long term and can adapt with the changes that come with normal growing and changing family needs e.g. mum returning to work full time, the boys’ transitions to nursery etc.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Sole-charge childcare: Providing attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for two young children throughout the day, while parents work from home.
Routine management: Maintaining consistent daily routines including meals, naps, activities, and transitions, ensuring both children feel secure and settled.
Age-appropriate activities: Planning engaging and stimulating activities such as sensory play, creative arts, baking, nature exploration, and imaginative play tailored to both children’s stages.
Outings and social activities: Supporting attendance at classes such as swimming, Little Gym, Hartbeeps, and Nursery drop-offs.
Meal preparation and weaning support: Preparing healthy, varied meals and snacks for both children and supporting the ongoing introduction of new foods.
Nursery duties: Keeping children’s areas, kitchen, and living spaces tidy and organised, managing toys, children’s laundry, and maintaining general order (family employs a cleaner twice weekly).
Bath and bedtime support: Managing bath time and supporting calm, consistent evening routines when required.
Communication with parents: Maintaining open, collaborative communication with parents regarding the children’s day, development, routines, and any updates.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for a warm and experienced nanny who is:
Experienced with babies and toddlers: Confident caring for both infants and young children, with a strong understanding of early development and emotional needs.
Warm, patient and nurturing: Naturally gentle, empathetic and able to support big emotions with calm reassurance and patience.
Proactive and organised: Able to confidently manage schedules, maintaining structure and routine without needing direction.
Collaborative and open-minded: Comfortable working alongside parents at home, receptive to feedback, and able to work in partnership without taking things personally.
Playful and positive: Uses humour, creativity and warmth to guide behaviour and maintain a happy, relaxed environment.
Consistent and boundary-aware: Able to maintain clear, kind boundaries around safety and manners.
Highly organised and tidy: Naturally neat, detail-focused and takes pride in maintaining a well-ordered and structured home environment.
Reliable, intuitive and committed: A trustworthy, long-term nanny who is genuinely invested in the family and brings common sense, initiative and dedication.
